Who we are
Building Balance (ABN 21 856 566 997) is a running coaching business based in Australia, run by Ryan Kirwan. This policy explains what personal information we collect through buildingbalance.com.au, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Name and email address — when you sign up for a free plan, a paid plan, a waitlist or coaching.
- Email activity — our email provider records opens, clicks and unsubscribes so we can see what's useful.
- Website analytics — Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, device type, approximate location) using cookies.
- Payment details — payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own secure checkout pages. Your card details never touch our website or servers, and we never see or store them.
How we use your information
We use your name and email to send you the plan you asked for, coaching emails, and occasional updates about Building Balance programs. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works immediately. We use analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
Third-party services we rely on
- Kit (kit.com) — stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans and coaching.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia (mainly in the United States). Each has its own privacy policy and safeguards, and we only share the minimum information each service needs to do its job.
Cookies
The site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works fine without them. A small notice appears on your first visit so you know analytics is running.
How long we keep your information
We keep your details while you're subscribed or a client. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our email list promptly. Some records (like payment records) may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Just email ryan@buildingbalance.com.au. If you have a privacy concern we can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged by email to subscribers.
